One of our Senior Financial Advisors, Steven Moles, is keeping busy over the lockdown and not just in the way you might think. Steven, who has been playing soccer at a high level since he was a boy, had recently started coaching the under 9s (it’s officially the U9 boys but there’s one girl in the team) at Manor Town United in Perrystown. When training was brought to a halt by the coronavirus Steven wanted to keep his players interested and learning so he decided to record himself doing a trick every day and send it on to the kids’ parents so that the kids could train themselves to do it too.
The tricks turned out to be a huge hit with parents reporting that the players are in suspense until the day’s video comes in. Steven didn’t stop there. Deciding to make the most of whatever authority he might have as coach, he sends a couple of ‘to dos’ with every video – nothing to do with football, things like ‘Wash your hands’, ‘Read for one hour’ or ‘Eat your vegetables’.
Steven has given us permission to share the tricks videos on our Facebook page. If you have a soccer fan in the house, they might enjoy learning the skills, and let’s face it, we could probably all do with taking his non-football advice too. Clean your bedrooms, folks 😊.
